What is the treatment:
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, involves the use of a device with fine needles to create tiny, controlled injuries in the skin. This process stimulates the body's natural collagen and elastin production, promoting skin renewal. Microneedling is effective for improving skin texture and elasticity, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, and minimizing the appearance of scars and stretch marks.
Which areas can be treated:
Beard
Body
Face
Hairline
Neck
How long is the treatment:
30 to 60 minutes, depending on the treatment area.
Pre-care Instructions:
Inform your therapist about any skin sensitivities.
How will the procedure be performed:
Microneedling involves the following steps:
Cleansing: The skin is cleansed to ensure it is free of makeup and impurities.
Topical Anesthetic (Optional): A numbing cream may be applied to minimize discomfort.
Application of Serum: A serum or growth factor is applied after removing the numbing cream to introduce and allow deeper penetration of active skin ingredients, therefore enhancing the results.
Microneedling: The microneedling device is passed over the skin with an easy glide provided by the serum, creating controlled micro-injuries.
Post-Treatment Care: Post-treatment skin care such as masks, LED and moisturizers are applied to calm and soothe the skin, and assist with skin healing.
Sun Protection: The skin needs extra protection after a skin treatment. We always end the procedure off with applying a broad-spectrum high SPF 50 sunscreen.
Post-care Instructions:
Apply post-treatment skin care and protect your skin from the sun. Avoid touching the face excessively. Follow a gentle skincare routine and avoid any active skin ingredients for 5 to 7 days after the procedure. You can apply makeup the next day.
Onset of the Effect:
Gradual improvements over weeks to months.
Duration of the Results:
Long-lasting, with maintenance sessions recommended.
How often should you do the treatment:
Every 4 to 6 weeks. 6 sessions are recommended. Great combination treatment with chemical peels.
Level of discomfort:
Mild to moderate discomfort depending on the depth of the needles, numbing cream is often applied 20 to 30 minutes before the procedure.
